FAFSA Information
The FAFSA is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and must be completed in order to qualify for any type of financial aid program, including student loans. The only forms of federal aid available to graduate students are unsubsidized direct loans, federal work study, and/or Graduate PLUS loans.
• Students need a federal FSA ID, which must be created at www.fsaid.ed.gov. This is needed prior to beginning the FAFSA application .
• Go to www.fafsa.ed.gov to fill out the FAFSA online. Students will need their FSA ID and 2016 income information to do so. Graduate students are considered independent and will not need parents’ income information.
• The Federal School Code for Monroe College is 004799.
